Welcome to Poorhouse Quilt Designs!

We have just returned from Quilt Market where we introduced 3 new patterns and we’d love to share them with you! The Everyday Bag is a bag you’ll reach for every day! The bag retains its shape using a combination of Inn Control and Rigid Weave by Innovative Craft Products! Natural Inspiration Leaf Bowls are inspired by leaves fro my backyard – they use the new product Inn-spire, also from Innovative Craft Products. Finally, we continue the Tea Leaf tradition with the Tea Leaf Bedroom Suite!

At right is our fun quilt, Winter Memories (PQD-173)! This quilt is a combination of simple piecing and fusible applique! Our pattern includes full size applique patterns as well as full color close-ups of each block. Here is a quilt that you can embellish to your heart’s content! We’ve added Hot Ribbon Art, Hot Fuse Nailheads, Pom-Poms, Buttons and you can add more!

The pieced pinwheels were made from the scraps after creating appliques. You can use any method you’d like to create the half square triangles…I used Thangles (2″ finished package) for this quilt! (They are always so easy and so accurate!)

This quilt can also be used for a Block of the Month Club! We have added kitting information in our library for shops wishing to do this. There are 9 blocks to complete – all with a Winter theme! Have fun with this one!

The Tea Leaf patterns continue to be a big hit!! Let’s start with the Tea Leaf Tabletop pattern (PQD-170) shown here. We have included Placemats, Table Square, Table Runner and Napkin. These selections are all shown using the optional rick-rack! Each block uses 2 1/2″ squares, so if you have some leftovers jelly rolls, great place to use them!

These designs have that “Cathedral Window” feel without the handwork!

Let’s not leave out our other Tea Leaf sensation – Tea Leaf Totes (PQD-171)! We used charm squares this time to make a jumbo design on the front of the tote, then we couldn’t resist the small crossbody bag with 2 1/2″ squares!

You can use one charm pack of 40 5″ squares to make both bags! The tote is closed with a magnetic snap and the small bag uses a zipper. I used Moda’s Happy for these 2 bags – stay turned for more options using different colorways!

It’s here! Ready, Set, Go, Baby Necessities to Sew (published by Leisure Arts, SKU# 5073) is now available! We are so excited to share this new book with you. Fifteen projects for new babies and their parents and grandparents!
