Why not? The Petal Pouch uses the traditional Dresden Plate design to add interest to the pouch. Our pattern comes with the wedge shape that we stitch into points to create a flower.
This time I got lazy and decided not to form the petals – this choice looks modern and can be done pretty quickly! Let’s take a look:
The fabric is from Maywood Studio’s Hi De Ho collection – these 40’s prints are just adorable! I stitched the wedges together, and pressed the curved edges over 1/4″. With 3/8″ wide strips of Heat’n Bond LITE along the pressed edge, I was able to fuse my Rick Rack to the back of the set of wedges (hint: test your rick rack before you start this – some rick rack may just melt – be sure it’s 100% cotton!). Then just Blanket stitch along the curved edge. Simple!
Another cute Petal Pouch – ready for Spring! (We all need some Spring right now!!)
Let me know what you think!
