Welcome to the Creative Spaces Blog Hop Week 6 – this is the last week that 16 different designers share their tips on organizing and corralling their creative stuff! What a great resource to refer to when you are organizing your space!
In this post, I’d like to share 2 different solutions for handling tools and rulers and then there are 2 different giveaways!!
**Hint – read down to the end of this post to see what our giveaways are – then comment to be entered – we will pick this week’s winner next week!**
I find that one of the most challenging surfaces in my creative space is the cutting table. When I am cutting and sewing, this surface can become a minefield of crafty supplies! Things get lost and I spend a lot of time “patting down” the table to find what I need! Can you relate?
Recently, I have found a fun product that keeps my rulers and tools (and phone) organized and handy on the cutting table! It’s called “Your Nest”! It holds 7 or more rulers (all sizes, not just the small stuff!) plus there’s a special ‘scoop’ for the rotary cutter, as well as a few small ‘cups’ for scissors, pens and pencils.
This is mine in use:
I have 4 rulers in there (see the top view below), including my 4-1/2″ x 24-1/2″ ruler! My Nest handles these tools beautifully!
Mr. Poor has a Nest, too – he uses his at his desk. What a great stocking stuffer, eh, ladies (for that person who has everything)?
If you would like more info on Your Nest – visit www.pudgieparrot.com. Your Nest comes in 4 fun colors!
Hey – what about organizing when hand sewing? That’s when I need a Wingman! My Wingman protects my family too – they are not sitting on any errant tools by accident!
Everybody needs a Wingman!! The Wingman is a:
- Thread Catcher
- Seam Ripper holder (not that I need that lol)
- Great place for needles
- It balances on the arm of your chair
- And I’ve found that it works great in the car!
The pattern is by Fat Quarter Gypsy and contains a Mini Pop Up spring – you can get it here http://fatquartergypsyshop.com/fqg133-wingman-pop-up-pattern/ – they are so much fun to make. The larger one is also a lot of fun – hey – I think I am going to make one for my pressing station! Putting that on the list!
So – How about a giveaway? Comment below and you will be entered to win a Nest or a Wingman package!!
Here is the schedule so that you can get hopping and hearing about everyone’s tool tricks:
