For a few years now, I’ve been wanting to make a Four Leaf Clover table topper for this time of year – we need a little color at the end of the winter, so this fit the bill.
The Leaf Topper pattern has the shapes and the instructions for covering your shapes, shown in the video below.
Where can you get the pattern and the shapes? Visit our retail partner, Stina’s Quilt and Sewing Supplies!
Note – I appliqued with a blanket stitch on this topper and then used a straight stitch to create the veins in the leaves.
Pairing up the Leaves:
Place a leaf on top of another as shown and stitch along the outer edge of the short applique to hold the 2 pieces together. Repeat this for the other pair, and then for stitching the 2 pairs together.
What you will need is a template for the stem – click here for the pdf.
How to assemble the stem?
- Fuse a foam stem to a 3″ x 9″ strip. By the way, if you don’t have extra foam, just substitute fusible fleece for the this piece.
- Back it with another 3″ x 9″ strip, right sides together and stitch around the outer edge, leaving a large opening on one long side.
- Turn right side out, pin together and topstitch closed.
- Stitch the stem under the leaves and you are ready to create your lucky tablescape!!
We’d love to see your Four Leaf Clovers on Facebook or Instagram – so help us share!!
Keep on stitching!
