About Us
Poorhouse Quilt Designs is an independent pattern company dedicated to designing quilted projects that are satisfying for the beginning quilter as well as the expert. Our pattern instructions include rotary cutting, machine piecing, fusible appliqué and machine quilting.
Let me introduce myself; I am Kristine Poor, owner of Poorhouse Quilt Designs – hence the name! I started Poorhouse Quilt Designs in September 2006, after designing the Sampler Tote as a gift for a family member. The tote was a hit and a pattern company was born! I have a degree in Engineering and a love of fabric; these seemingly conflicting pursuits have come together. I work with Jean Johnson (my mom/pattern editor/sample maker/creative assistant) to develop patterns that are a canvas for your creativity.
Our patterns are designed with the quilt teacher in mind. Contact us if you would like a teaching plan for any of the patterns we have created. We include visual aids/handouts/class timing ideas.
Because we support independent quilt shops, we do not sell directly to retail customers on this site. Click here to find the quilt shop nearest you.
Quilt Guilds: We have a trunk show available! Please contact us to find out more.
Thank you for visiting Poorhouse Quilt Designs – please visit us again soon!
